Where? Colmar - France

Nice week-end, good weather forecast, so why not heading to an Airshow in the beautiful Alsace, France...? The show has been held at the Base Aérienne (Air Base) 132 at Colmar-Meyenheim, which is not far from the border to Switzerland and Germany. Due to that the public (about 30.000 in total) that attended that show was international, as were the presented aircraft as well.

The static display
The flightline has been really impressive. No wonder with 6 aerobatic teams being present at Colmar, but other interesting planes could be discovered as well: 2 Saab Draken from Austria, 2 Viggen from Sweden, 1MB339 and a Piaggio from Italy, Germany flew in with 2 F-4 Phantoms and 2 Tornados and, the highlight for many, 2 A-4 Skyhawks from Singapore (one of them being a two-seater).
France presented its Mirage 2000 and the Squadrons based at Colmar showed of their Mirage F-1 in the Hangar.The gates opened quite late in the morning leaving just enough time to check the static display before the flight program started at about a quarter past ten.
