RDAF Airshow 2005

Article Index

Surely everybody knows the feeling when he is heading enthusiastically to an airshow hundreds of miles away to find out that the airfield is covered by a low layer of dark gray clouds combined with drizzling rain. Exactly that was the case for this year's airshow of the Danish Air Force at Karup Airbase.

PanoSeveral highlights like a Hungarian MiG-29 flight display or the presence of a New York ANG LC-130H Hercules were announced on their website beforehand.
Unfortuantely the flight display had to be cancelled in the morning, but at around midday the first aircraft took off. The first topic in the flight programm was the liberation of a hostage of two men dressed in white long cloaks with the aid of several Aerospatiale AS-550C-2 Fennec helicopters. Rotor displays continued with a Sikorsky S-61 and a blue Navy Westland Super Lynx 90B. These were followed by a flight of four DeHavilland Chipmunks and the Baby Blue Team with their four Saab T-17 trainers.
