The Salon du Bourget - or in English "Paris Air Show" - is the world's biggest aeronautical trade fair. Well known for the large variety of displayed aircraft and traffic jams all around the area the 47th edition in 2007 made no exception. After the big hype of the first public appearance of the Airbus A380 in 2005 new highlights

 Falcon 7Xwere rare, only the appearance of the Bell Agusta BA609 caused some attention on the technological side, and the thrust-vectored MiG-29 OVT on the military and noisy side.Besides that nothing spectacular happened regarding the hardware, but nevertheless it was very interesting to walk around and discover many interesting aircraft. As usual the opening of the show on Monday was under presence of a high French politician, this time France’s Prime Minister François Fillon. When? November 2017

Tsuiki Airbase on the Southern Japanese island of Kyushu hosts nowadays two Squadrons of the Mitsubishi F-2 jet. 6 Hikotai and 8 Hikotai are half of the JASDF Squadrons operating the indigenous, F-16-look-alike fighter, painted in an extraordinary and cool looking blue camouflage. The airshow at the end of October was a good possibility to see the pilots and their jets in action.

Once again there was the chance in 2011 to visit the graduation ceremony of the Israeli Air Force's (IAF) Pilot Training Course in Hatzerim. This year it was course #162 and the aerial performers did change a bit compared to the last visit in 2009.

Finally, after months of preparation and strong support by the Messerschmitt Stiftung and the EADS Heritage Flight I am sitting in the photo-ship on that hot August day 2003 and can listen to the radio traffic of the Messerschmitt Bf-108 D-ESBH that is lining up on the runway in front of us and which is the main target of that photoflight.
