Apart from the mass formation several overflights of the airfield were performed. As the closer surroundings of the airbase were closed off during this event, image quality for those that watched it from the ground suffered quite a bit. AMK for P4E! Today the German parliament gave gree AMK for P4E! Today the German parliament gave green light to equip P4E Eurofighters with the Aerodynamic Modification Kit (AMK). This includes LERX (Leading Edge Root eXtension), extended fuselage strakes and extended flaperons. Together with software changes this will facilitate future weapon integration and make the platform even more agile. AMK was test flown on IPA7 already a few years ago and I have had the big chance to take some air-air photos during one of those test flights. Photos were taken out of the open ramp of a C-160 Transall.
